HOW IT WORKS

Date: May 11, 2024

Location: 214 FM351, Beeville, TX 78102

Time Start: 9am - 7pm

Time for Judges' Evaluation: 5pm - 6:30pm

Attendees vote for their favorites, fueling The Peoples Choice Expo. The top 10 most voted vehicles will be judged on a 100-point scale. A total score decides the winner, seizing the BMF Prize Package. Non-Participants are for honorable mention plus perks.

Here is how it works, see below.

The Judging Process

Attendees vote throughout the event.
Top 10 cars with the highest attendee scores move to the next round.
Judges inspect these cars for 5 minutes each, scoring them on the 100-point scale.
The car with the highest combined score (from attendees and judges) wins the BMF Prize Package..

The Attendee Voting

Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite vehicle throughout the day.
Voting will take place as attendees walk around the grounds and enjoy the event.
Each vote contributes to the overall Peoples Choice score.

Top 10 Selection

After the Peoples Choice voting, the top 10 highest-scored vehicles will be selected for further judging.

The Judges Evaluation

Experienced judges will inspect each of the top 10 vehicles for 5 minutes each.
Evaluation will be based on a 100-point scale, focusing on predefined criteria.

Attendees vote for their favorite car, contributing 1 point to the Peoples Choice score.
Judges use a 100-point scale to evaluate cars based on criteria like appearance, condition, and modifications.

Historical/original condition (if applicable)

Winners Announcement

Winners for both Peoples Choice and Judges' Evaluation will be announced at 5pm

Presentation of Awards

Awarding of the BMF Championship Belt to the overall winner.
Trophies or recognition for other category winners.

Scoring System: 100 Point System

Every car starts with a perfect score! Points are only awarded for specific areas in each category, so focus on showcasing your car's strengths.
Bonus points for authenticity: Judges love originality, especially in the interior and engine compartment. Think classic parts, period-correct upgrades, and well-maintained originals.
Nail the Paint and Coachwork: This category is all about flawless bodywork and a stunning shine. Make sure your car looks its absolute best!

Dirt, dust, stains - 1
Head lights, signal lights, side markers, fog lights, rear tail lights - 2
Windshield, seal and trim, wipers, washer sprayers - 2
Windows side and rear, door and window seals, runs and trim - 2
Side trim, antenna, side mirrors - 2
Deck lid trim, lock, seal, star - 2
Front and Rear bumpers, rubber rub strips, guards - 2

INTERIOR COMPONENTS 20 Points

Spare tire, tools, jack, first aid kit (if supplied) - 1
Dirt, dust, corrosion, stains in trunk area - 1
Trunk finish, side and floor coverings - 1
Dirt, dust, stains on interior - 1
Wood, chrome, paint finish, inside door jambs, door hinges - 2
Door inside coverings, correct material, color, condition of leather, or MB tex - 2
Steering wheel, hub pad, column, gear shift, signaling stalks - 2
Carpeting, material correct for that year and model, binding, rubber floor mats - 2
Headliner, inside soft top, frame, sun visors inside rearview mirror - 3
Dash, including all instruments controls radio, speakers, clock, HVAC controls - 3
Seat coverings, correct pleating, perforations, color. Foundation and surface condition - 4

Quality of paint work (scratches, fish eyes, irregular orange peels, embedded dirt) - 4
Imperfections in paint finish (chips, swirls, yellowing, overspray, poor matching) - 4
Gaps: doors, hood, deck lid - 3
Panel sightlines and profiles (alignment of panels along the side of the car) - 3
Quality of body work, evidence of poor prep, scratches, dents - 3
Roof, including soft-top - 2
Fitment of attached adjacent body parts (grille, bumpers, trim lights, etc.) - 2

Paint color (correctness for year, model, uniformity, brightness or dullness) - 1

Cooling system: (radiator, fan, hoses clamps, expansion tank, water pump, and cap) - 2
HVAC system: (heater hoses, A/C condenser, auxiliary fan, and air ducts) - 2
Fuel delivery and induction system: (carburetors, fuel injection lines, hoses, clamps) - 2
Wires, harness, relays, fuses: (fuse box, clamps) - 2
Battery charging system: (alternator, voltage reg, battery, cables, clamps, bat tray) - 2
